Dr. Crystal Throop was born and raised near Spencerville, Ontario on a hobby cow-calf beef farm. She completed a Bachelor of Science Honors Degree from the University of Guelph where, during her undergraduate program, had the opportunity to work multiple summers as a research assistant at the Kemptville College Dairy Research Facility. This experience cemented her interest in dairy production medicine. Dr. Crystal went on to graduate from the Ontario Veterinary College at the University of Guelph in 2011 and has been with Temiskaming Veterinary Services practicing large (farm) animal medicine since May of 2011. She is also a leader with the Temiskaming 4H Association. In her spare time, Dr. Crystal enjoys trying to "out fish" the boys for walleye, camping, four wheeling and sledding. At home, she has a fur baby named Trixie (cat), whom she adopted while in vet school from the local humane society.
