Temiskaming Veterinary Services was founded by Dr Connie Dancho in 1988 as a large animal practice. Our present location was established in 1998, at which time we expanded our services to include companion animal care.

Over the years, Temiskaming Veterinary Services has continued to evolve, to meet the needs of our furry friends. This included a major expansion of the clinic building in 2014. At present, our clinic employs 26 talented individuals.

Our team is committed to working harmoniously with our clients, to promote good animal health. Temiskaming Veterinary Services recognizes the importance of continuing education in providing our clients with the best veterinary care possible. We feel that all animals should be treated with compassion and care in every check-up, procedure, and surgery.

Our clinic has 4 exam rooms, a large treatment area, one surgical suite, radiology room, in-house diagnostics lab, an ICU, dog ward (including 3 dog runs), a cat ward, and isolation unit. To improve patient care, kennel rooms have had recent heating and electrical upgrades. Our treatment area includes two treatment tables, hook-up for 2 anesthetic units, dental x-ray unit (updated 2025) and more! We have a digital x-ray unit and a high definition ultrasound unit, both updated in the past 4 years. Our in house diagnostics lab has also been updated to include an AI scanner to improve efficiency on fecal tests and allow submission of fine-needle aspirates for pathology interpretation, and a vcheck machine to enable an expanded range of in house blood tests that can be performed. Manual cytological evaluation of urinalyses, aspirates, ear & skin swabs, and blood smears are still performed by our staff using 1 of 3 microscopes
